Getting back together and another egg
Rebel and Ender finch are both madly in love with Fudge and Fudge gave up on looking after her nest by her self and took both of them in to her nest and there is another egg
Defending eggs well while other birds attack
Here is Fudge defending her eggs while Rebel's spying, maybe planning a attack but Fudge has a greater defence !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dash and Angel defending the nest but Angel is a little bored / or maybe a little shy or is putting on make-up

EGGS! 4th of March 2014
Dash and Fudge have bred and their is one egg. Dash has also bred with Angel and they have one egg.
we found out these facts
Chick Development Schedule
incubation is 14 days
8 days old put on closed band
21 days old they fledge (leave the nest)
4 weeks old they start to eat on their own
5-6 weeks old the adult colors will start to develop, along with the beak color changing to orange.
5-6 weeks old move the chicks to their own cage. They will disrupt the next clutch process and the parents may start to pluck their feathers.

3rd of May Part 2
Dad here. Since putting up the nesting boxes, Fudge and Dash quickly set up home in one. While Dash defending the nest from Rebel, he allowed the interloper Angel into the nest. A huge battle ensued between Angel and Fudge. Fudge the smaller female took several tail feathers off Angel before Angel convinced (through some aggressive grooming) Dash to hop into her own nest. It looks as though Angel has won Dash over, but he seems to be a cassanova. When he spies another male near the other nest box, he still chases them off.
3rd of May 2014
We have a new Zebra finch, I think it is a girl as it has no orange cheeks, Dad thinks it is a boy because of its bright red beak. Dad calls it Rebel. The birds were not interested in the nesting boxes, and started making nests elsewhere. Maybe the nests were too low, so Dad bolted the nesting boxes higher up.
Dash is currently very attractive to both Angel and Fudge. He helped Fudged build a nest in a small tree, and with Angel on top of a nesting box. He has had sexual contact with both of them. Angel and Fudge chase off any birds that come near their nests. Ender finch shows no interest at all. Rebel is very persistent in wanting Angel's nest but gets chased off.
Ender finch, in foreground, no interest in the girls
Fudge, made a nest in the tree
Dash and Angel checking out a nesting site on top of the box, shortly after Dad raised it
